Kiss Of Life is my favorite Sade jam
If you don't see her perform you won't know her
No way this is your first time hearing Sade lmao 😂
PARADISE for Up-Tepo Sade - also MAUREEN.
Why don't modern artists us saxophones anymore. All they use is a programed beat from a machine except Dua Lipa and Olivia Rodrigo god bless their souls
Gen X was a lot cooler in the 80s than people give us credit for. Busic back then was a buffet of different styles and it was perfectly ok to enjoy everything.
I can't think of a Sade song that I don't like.
"give me the minor" WHAAAAAAAAAAAAATTTTTTT???????????
You mi lady just stumbled on a Gold/Diamond mine. I used to be a r&b/hip-hop fan only and didn't understand why my cousin loved Sade so much. I was younger and didn't really know music. As I grew older, I one day just decided to listen to the Lover's Rock album. I was sold. I went back and listened to her older songs; I've been hooked ever since. Sade is in her own league, NOBODY can be compared, in my own opinion. She has no competition, If I was forced to give her competition, I would put her against Adele. Edit: Please listen to No Ordinary Love and then the entire Lover's Rock album.
Sade was the soundtrack to literally 37% of all babies conceived since 1984. Facts No, not really fact, but, ALOT.
Now do yourself a favor and UA-cam MF Doom +Sade and enjoy what you’ll be blown away .
Diamond Life is definitely a classic album. The jazzy style is sometimes seen in the 80s. In this case her bandmates came from Hull, a city that had other 'jazzy' sounding groups such as Everything But the Girl, The Beautiful South...
The reason for the vocal difference of early and later Sade is that Sade of the 80s and 90s was a young woman. 2000s Sade was a mother reaching middle age. Her voice matured.
Worst song to react to but it's her biggest hit. Her other songs are sooooo much better.. "Bullet proof Soul", "Is it a Crime" and soooo many more ......
The band Sade's music is what we call "Grown Folks Music"
New viewer. I hope you listen to more of Sade. Couple tracks to check out: _Nothing Can Come Between Us_ and _Is it a Crime_ . Good first impression of this band's music! (Totally surprised you had never heard _Smooth Operator_ before, as that's such a ubiquitous track.) In terms of albums, check out _Diamond Life_ to start with.
I never heard much of Sade's music but never hearing "Smooth Operator" is kinda wild lmao. Out of the few songs I have heard from her I think my favorite is "Ordinary Love".
I recently discovered frank ocean, I've heard Chanelle in the past, and I'm addicted now. Music still holds up
Sade and Maxwell are a must
Promise album is good
To answer your question, I'd recommend the album "Stronger Than Pride" ... Yes it's my favorite, but I also think it represents the perfect sweet spot between Sade's various phases, making it your ideal introduction album.
Love Deluxe
Welcome aboard! Sade is desert island status for me.
I love all of Sade but my favorite is Love is Stronger than Pride. My childhood.
👍👍👍👍👍👍
"Your love is king" is my favourite.
I like the Neptune’s version of By Your Side
FUN FACT: Sade is the name of the lead singer as well as it is the name of the band!
'Your Not The Man', 'Cherish The Day,' 'Like A Tattoo,' 'Haunt Me,' 'Maureen,' just to name a few. It's a crime you didn't know who she is. 'Is It A Crime' is another banger. Lol!!!! I've seen EVERY world tour since 1984. Her live shows sounds EXACTLY like the studio, but waaaay better..
Listen to Bullet Proof Soul, on the '92 album
I'm surprised you've never heard Smooth Operator. Dis a classic
At the peak of their popularity, they were keen to emphasise that Sade was the name of the band but it was a battle they quickly lost to public perception. Sade is a shortened form of Folasade, the lead singer's Nigerian middle name. Her bandmates, especially saxophonist Stuart Matthewman who I would suggest was the band leader since he was always spokesman or co-interviewee alongside Sade, struggled to be regarded as anything more than her backing band. This may go some way towards explaining the prominence of the sax in the music of Sade the group versus Sade the solo artist. For something different from her, try Slave Song.
Try Terence Trent D'Arby - had a few big hits in the 80s.
Sade is literally the greatest female vocalist of all time.
Love Sade. My friends and I used to snicker at the lyrics to "Your Love Is King." How did she get away with that? "Touching the very part of me, it's making my soul sing / I'm crying out for more, your love is king / I'm coming on, I'm coming / You're making me dance inside." Ah. So it's THAT kind of king. I get it.
Diamond Life is one of the greatest albums I ever owned. Sade went to the same school as my brother, although I think she was in the year above him. Her Mother used to live here, so I did spot Sade once from a distance, after she became well known. Just as elegant in the flesh as she was in her videos!
My mum literally named me after Sade, but outside of the singer I never hear people saying the name let alone someone pronouncing the name correctly! Thank you
When I hear caucasian people say "tasteful " in reference to Black singers it's a turn-off. Tasteful as opposed to what???
I love Sade❤ one of those artists that is played on the radio but you don’t know her she flys under the radar
One of my favorite groups of all time. These would be my five favorite songs from them, interesting that none of them were listed in the top five streams. That is a sign of just how amazing they were. 1. "Bulletproof Soul" from Love Deluxe LP (1992) 2. "Nothing Can Come Between Us" from Stronger Than Pride LP (1988) 3. "Hang On To Your Love" from Diamond Life LP (1984) 4. "Paradise" from Stronger Than Pride LP 5. "I Couldn't Love You More" from Love Deluxe LP BTW the saxophone was prevalent on all of their recordings (at least the first 4 LP's anyway) because the lead musician/producer Stuart Matthewman was a sax player.
You should do wolf or cherry bomb by tyler the creator or maybe some of his non album singles like best interest and okra
How was No Ordinary Love not on there? What a travesty.
Kate Bush is always a winner.
Club Tropicana, Young Guns and Wham Rap! still amazing for me.
Please don't base her first album solely on Smooth Operator, which is my least favorite song on that album. Please give it a listen.
Her beauty and music makes me days always better back then.
Sade is #BlackFamous. Great band! Definitely listen to Promise and Love Deluxe.
I was hoping for "No ordinary love" that's a top 3 Sade song arguably better. Spotify had a brainfart lol Listen to her 1st album, the rabbit hole is very enjoyable borderline therapeutic 👍 "Sweetest Taboo" is right up there as well as "It's a crime"
Please listen to the full Culture Club album - Color By Numbers! It's a 80s classic!
Love deluxe is the best album in my opinion
